Our Backyard Artifacts

So, we got a new dog a few weeks ago. We did have a chocolate lab named Brodie but we had to find another family to take him because he was so hyper that the girls couldn't play with him. Seriously, Kaylie was afraid to even walk past the dog run. If you have ever seen Marly and Me that is our dog Brodie. No joke. He broke 3 leashes and 2 metal chains!! Once he even pulled me down onto the cement scraping both palms of my hands and bruising my knee. We found out today, however that he escaped, again from the fenced in backyard of his new family. This time he pulled out two fence posts that had been cemented into the ground. On his little escape though he was not so lucky and got hit by a car. He was injured so bad that he had to be put to sleep. We haven't told Charity yet. I'm not sure how we will. She asks when we can go see him just about every other day.
On a much lighter note our new dog Ridge has been the perfect fit for our family. The girls absolutely love playing with him. They can even take him for walks! He is really, really good to stay around the yard when we let him of the chain. (Don't worry. We let him off everyday for extended periods of time.) He even comes when he is called. He is just so good and calm. I have never even heard him bark! He has peed on Cory a few times. Everytime Cory gives him a belly rub it's like an automatic sprinkler! It has never happened to us girls!! Too funny.
My only complaint about Ridge is that he won't stop digging!! I don't know how many times we have had to "bury" the sprinkler heads again. The funny thing I am a little worried that the FBI might be showing up at my door. Everyday he unearths new "artifacts" left from those who lived here before us. I thought I did a pretty good job last summer digging up these artifacts and "stowing" them away, but I have been put to shame. I'm just going to have to take a few notes from Ridge and see what treasures I can find. Here are the "artifacts" Ridge dug up today!!

You can't see them really well but there is a sock, a can opener, a couple of nails, a few pieces of glass, shingles, plastic, a peice of a pipe, an old board, wire, an electrical thingy, and a plastic spoon. Amazing don't ya think!

I'm sitting at my computer laughing. I don't imagine the BLM or the FBI will want to take you to jail for those artifacts, but who knows?!
